Girl Power! Female Hockey Going Strong in Landmark, Manitoba!

Did you know that for the 2021-22 hockey season, girls made up approximately 30% of our Landmark Minor Hockey co-ed teams in the U7, U9, and U11 categories? Girls have a few options if they are interested in playing hockey. They can (1) play on a co-ed community team, (2) play on a single roster all girls team, or (3) choose to be dual rostered, which means they are able to play on an all girls team in addition to the co-ed community team.

With support from Landmark Minor Hockey and the Landmark Recreation Association, the U11 Girls Dual Roster (DR) team was able to call Landmark their home arena. This year the U11 Landmark Blues DR team consisted of female players from the Landmark, La Broquerie, Niverville, Springfield, Ste. Anne, and St. Adolphe hockey clubs. These girls had an amazing season winning silver medals in both the Eastern Manitoba Female Hockey League and the U11 Female Rural "A" Hockey Provincials. Congratulations to our local Landmark girls Caitlyn Anderson (goalie/forward), Alexa Coulter (defence), Natalie Kotyk (forward) and Grace Plett (forward) who were key players in the team's success.

Hockey in general, builds character and connections and also promotes teamwork and community. If you are interested in learning more about the Landmark Minor Hockey program please visit If you have specific questions in regards to girls hockey in our community kindly send them via email to
